The AI2Empower Training of Trainers Workshop was successfully held from 26 to 28 January 2026 in Akşehir, Türkiye, within the Erasmus+ project “Enhancing Abilities with AI: Professional Training for Inclusive Disability Support”. The event was hosted by ARTİKA YARATICI SANATLAR DERNEĞİ and brought together partner organizations from Türkiye, Serbia, Germany and Italy.
Following the previously presented agenda, the three-day training provided participants with a structured overview of the use of Artificial Intelligence in inclusive education, rehabilitation, therapy and professional support for persons with disabilities. The programme combined theoretical knowledge, practical examples, reflection, evaluation and partner coordination.
During the first day, participants were introduced to the AI2Empower project, the roles of partner organizations and the modular training guide “Empowering Inclusive Support with AI”. The first module, “Artificial Intelligence in Inclusive Education and Therapy of Persons with Disabilities”, was led by the Serbian partner, Society of Special Education and Rehabilitation Therapists.
The second day focused on “Artificial Intelligence & Mindfulness”, led by ONDAMIND APS from Italy, while the third day included two additional modules: “Culturally Responsive Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Education”, led by Artika, and “Framework for Developing Practical AI-Based Training”, led by GBA UG from Germany. The workshop concluded with evaluation activities, a final partner meeting and a certificate ceremony.
The activity was implemented in a hybrid format, combining in-person work in a classroom setting with online participation through Zoom. According to the activity documentation, the participant evidence list recorded 51 names, confirming broad participation and strong engagement throughout the three working days.
An important part of the Training of Trainers was dedicated to quality improvement and refinement of the project materials. Through daily evaluations and closed partner meetings, the consortium reviewed all four modules and identified concrete improvements, including more practical examples, clearer terminology, guided exercises, stronger cultural adaptation and short video tutorials for future trainers.
In addition to the training sessions, participants took part in study visits and networking activities with local institutions in Akşehir, including the District Directorate of National Education and a local rehabilitation centre. These visits strengthened the connection between the project consortium and local actors in education, rehabilitation and community support.
The workshop also achieved strong visibility in the local community through media coverage, promotional materials, photographs, video recordings and documentation from the certificate ceremony. This confirmed that the activity had both a professional training dimension and a wider dissemination dimension.
Through this successful Training of Trainers, all four AI2Empower modules were presented and pilot-tested, participant feedback was collected, training materials were improved and the consortium strengthened its readiness for the next phase of national training activities. The event represents an important step toward empowering trainers and professionals to use AI in an inclusive, ethical and practical way to support persons with disabilities.
