The first local training “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Inclusive Education, Therapy and Support for Persons with Disabilities” was held in Belgrade on 13, 14, 20 and 21 May 2026, within the Erasmus+ project AI2Empower – Enhancing Abilities with AI: Professional Training for Inclusive Disability Support.

The training was organised in a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions and online participation via Zoom. Over four training days, participants had the opportunity to explore the use of artificial intelligence in inclusive education, rehabilitation, therapy, early intervention and employment support for persons with disabilities. The programme also addressed important ethical, safety and accessibility aspects of AI use.




A strong focus was placed on practical work. Participants worked on their own examples from practice, identified the needs of a specific user or group, and developed ideas on how AI tools could be used to provide better support. After the first round of presentations and feedback, participants further improved their work and presented final practical examples during the last day of the training.



All participants successfully completed the assigned tasks and presented their AI solutions. Their examples showed how artificial intelligence can be used to create adapted learning materials, plan activities, develop visual and communication support, individualise educational and therapeutic work, and strengthen inclusion of persons with disabilities in education and everyday life.

A total of 52 certificates were awarded. A smaller number of certificates were presented in person, while the remaining certificates were delivered to participants electronically.






The training evaluation showed very positive feedback from participants. The evaluation questionnaire was completed by 23 participants, including 20 professionals, 2 students and 1 parent. The topic was assessed as highly relevant for everyday work, with an average score of 4.52 out of 5, and 21 out of 23 participants rated its relevance with 4 or 5. Almost all respondents, 22 out of 23, stated that they had learned important new things about how AI can contribute to inclusion and support for persons with disabilities.
The quality of the training content was rated very highly, with an average score of 4.83 out of 5, and all respondents gave a score of 4 or 5. Participants also positively evaluated the technical conditions, active and inclusive working methods, clear explanations provided by trainers, useful feedback and the overall pace of the training. The applicability of the training content in practice was also highly rated, with 22 out of 23 participants giving a score of 4 or 5.
One of the most important results of the training is its potential for further impact. 22 out of 23 participants stated that they plan to share the knowledge gained with colleagues or parents. Participants indicated that they would do this through internal trainings, workshops, presentations, professional meetings, discussions with parents and the sharing of practical examples.
In their comments, participants highlighted practical examples, demonstrations of AI tools, work on their own tasks, exchange of experience and ideas for direct application in inclusive practice as the most useful parts of the training. They particularly valued examples related to the creation of adapted learning materials and activities for learners with different support needs.
Participants also suggested that future trainings should include even more practical examples, additional work on prompts, step-by-step tutorials, presentation of new AI tools, and topics such as early intervention, psychological support, self-care and wellbeing, emotional support for students, and the use of AI technologies to support blind and visually impaired persons.
The first local AI2Empower training confirmed strong interest in the responsible, accessible and practical use of artificial intelligence in inclusive education, therapy and support for persons with disabilities. Through a combination of expert input, practical assignments, online support and presentation of concrete AI solutions, participants gained knowledge and skills that can be further developed and applied in their professional and everyday work.
